As part of the Lowell Humanities Series, poet Franz Wright reads selections from his 16th poetry collection, God's Silence, forthcoming in March 2006 from Knopf. Wright won the Pulitzer Prize for his last collection, Walking to Martha's Vineyard (Knopf, 2003). In addition to his poetry he has also published translations of the work of Rainer Maria Rilke. The son of another Pulitzer-winner, poet James Wright, Franz Wright's honors also include two National Endowment for the Arts grants, a Whiting Fellowship, and the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry.

Wright is introduced by Sue Roberts, who teaches in Boston College's English department.
