Professor Peter Guy Wolynes is the Francis H.C. Crick Chair of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Wolynes works in the areas of theoretical chemistry and physics. He lectures on the idea of energy landscapes, and how scientists use the metaphor of landscapes to generate quantitative theories. Professor Wolynes's participation as University Lecturer in the Chemistry Department was Sponsored by Sigma-Aldrich.
