James Q. Wilson, senior fellow at the Clough Center for the Study of Constitutional Democracy and distinguished scholar in Boston College’s Department of Political Science, is the author or co-author of 14 books, including The Marriage Problem: How Our Culture Has Weakened Families (Harper Collins, 2002). Wilson is a member both of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society, a past president of the American Political Science Association, and the recipient of the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by Harvard University and was presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House in 2003.
