Acting Black: Reflections on Race and Campus Life

Sarah Willie, an associate professor of sociology at Swarthmore College, is the author of Acting Black: College, Identity and the Performance of Race (Routledge, 2003). For this book, she interviewed African-American alumni of Howard and Northwestern Universities—the former historically black, the latter predominantly white.
Willie is introduced by Cheryl Presley, vice president for student affairs at Boston College.
