Boston College Professor Elizabeth Sparks discusses the impact of sexual abuse on children who are abused by adults they know, trust, and respect, and presents two case studies that illuminate some of the effects of sexual abuse by a member of the clergy. Sparks teaches counseling, developmental, and educational psychology, and has expertise in the areas of prevention and intervention with children affected by community violence. Sparks is introduced by Joseph O’Keefe, S.J., associate dean, Lynch School of Education, Boston College.
