Ivan Seidenberg, chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, discusses the telecommunications innovations rapidly becoming available to consumers, such as EV-DO—“the next generation of high-speed wireless technology”—and FiOS, which utilizes fiber-optic technology. He points to Ireland's successful economic growth in the past two decades as a model for the United States as it seeks to keep up in the global marketplace.
