Ivan Seidenberg, chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, discusses the telecommunications innovations rapidly becoming available to consumers, such as EV-DO—“the next generation of high-speed wireless technology”—and FiOS, which utilizes fiber-optic technology. He points to Ireland's successful economic growth in the past two decades as a model for the United States as it seeks to keep up in the global marketplace.
Peter Rollins, executive director of corporate and government affairs for the Carroll School of Management, offers opening remarks. Seidenberg is introduced by Anne Finucane, president of Bank of America, Northeast.
