Charles Pierce is a regular contributor to National Public Radio and ESPN radio as well as a writer at large for Esquire magazine and a staff member at the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine. In this lecture—part of a two day conference at Boston College called “Aging, Genetic Technology, and the Future”—he discusses his book, Hard to Forget: An Alzheimer’s Story (Random House, 2000), about the scientific race to discover the causes of Alzheimer’s and his own father’s struggle with the disease.

Pierce is introduced by Michael A. Smyer, dean of Boston College’s Graduate School of Arts and Sceinces and associate vice president for research.
