Writers Among Us: Alicia Munnell

Peter F. Drucker Professor of Management Sciences Alicia Munnell is the director of the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. She was a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisors and the assistant secretary of the treasury for economic policy under President Clinton. She was formerly the senior vice president and director of research of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Munnell discusses her recent book Coming Up Short: The Challenge of 401(k) Plans, in which she assesses the pitfalls of the current retirement savings system and proposes improvements.
Munnell is introduced by the editor of Boston College Magazine, Ben Birnbaum. This lecture is a part of “Writers Among Us: Boston College Readings,” a series spotlighting authors in the BC community.
