Colum McCann Reads from His Novel
Colum McCann is the author of four novels, including Zoli (Random House, 2007), and his work has appeared in the New Yorker, the Atlantic Monthly, and GQ. In 2003 Esquire magazine named him “Writer of the Year.” At this event, sponsored by the Irish Studies Program, he reads selections from his novella “Everything in This Country Must,” which was made into an Oscar-nominated film of the same name by Gary McKendry in 2004. He also reads from a work in progress—a novel, as yet untitled, he hopes to publish in 2009.
