Suzanne Matson, professor in the English department, reads from her latest novel, The Tree-Sitter (W. W. Norton, 2006). Matson is also the author of the novels A Trick of Nature (W. W. Norton, 2000) and The Hunger Moon (W. W. Norton, 1997) as well as the poetry collections Durable Goods (Alice James, 1993) and Sea Level (Alice James, 1990).

Matson is introduced by Mary Crane, professor and chairperson of the English department, following welcoming remarks from Ben Birnbaum, editor of Boston College Magazine.
