Format: Literary reading followed by lecture

Paul Mariani, the University Professor of English at Boston College, and Barry Moser, a renowned book designer and illustrator, read from and discuss their collaboration on Deaths and Transfigurations: New Poems (Paraclete Press, 2005), with poems by Mariani and engravings by Moser. Mariani is the author of 14 books, including several literary biographies and poetry collections. Moser has illustrated nearly 300 books, including the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible (1999) and Alice in Wonderland (Pennyroyal Press, 1982), for which he won the National Book Award.

Mariani and Moser are introduced by Ben Birnbaum, editor of Boston College Magazine. This event is a part of “Writers Among Us: Boston College Readings,” a series spotlighting recent book publications by Boston College faculty.
