Author Meets Critics: The Religious Test

“Liberal democratic government is a very great good, and so is serious, deep religious faith. But not all good things go together, and these two certainly don't,” says Damon Linker, commentary editor of Newsweek/The Daily Beast and author of The Religious Test: Why We Must Question the Beliefs of Our Leaders. Linker discusses why candidates for office should be judged on their politically relevant religious convictions. His talk is followed by responses from two critics: Patrick J. Deneen, an associate professor of government at Georgetown University, and Mark Silk, professor of religion in public life at Trinity College.
