A Long Retreat: A Reading by Andrew Krivak
Author Andrew Krivak reads from his memoir A Long Retreat: In Search of a Religious Life (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2008), which tells of his eight years as a Jesuit and the search for God and himself that led him to leave the order. Robert Coles described the book as “an account of a soul's progress amid the possibilities offered by our contemporary secular world, all told incisively and with a haunting candor that will reach and touch the grateful reader.” Krivak has written for the New York Times, DoubleTake Magazine, Commonweal, and Boston College Magazine.
