Karim Kawar is the Jordanian ambassador to the United States and a member of the Boston College Class of 1987. He describes Jordan's role as reformer, peacemaker, and mediator in the Arab world, and comments on recent political developments in the Middle East and in Jordan.

Kawar is introduced by Ali Banuazizi, a professor in Boston College's psychology department and codirector of the University's Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Program.
