Wisdom, Freedom, Community, Truth: Faith with the Works
David Lyle Jeffrey is the provost of Baylor University. His books include People of the Book: Christian Identity and Literary Culture (Eerdmans, 1996) and Houses of the Interpreter: Reading Scripture, Reading Culture (Baylor, 2004). He delves into the meaning of four values at the heart of Christian university education—wisdom, freedom, community, and truth—both as ideals, and as ideas put into practice.
Welcoming remarks are offered by Frederick Lawrence, director of the Lonergan Workshop at Boston College, and Jeffrey is introduced by Brian Braman, director of the Perspectives Program at Boston College.
