Should the U.S. withdraw from Iraq or put more effort into the war? How do concerns about the oil supply influence U.S. policy towards Iraq? Are there similarities between America’s engagements in Vietnam and Iraq and what can we learn from them? How can the U.S. government engage its citizens in foreign policy? These are some of the issues at a panel discussion sponsored by Americans for Informed Democracy, a nonpartisan group that promotes education and discussion of foreign affairs.

The panelists are Nasser Behnegar, associate professor of political science, Benjamin Braude, associate professor of history, Donald Hafner, professor of political science, Seth Jacobs, associate professor of history, and Marc Landy, professor of political science. David Deese, associate professor of political science, introduces the program. After 45 minutes of presentations by the panelists, there is an hour of discussion with questions and answers from the audience.
