On January 6, 2002, the Boston Globe published an article revealing that over the course of several decades, the Archdiocese of Boston protected priests who were abusing children by moving the priests from parish to parish. Written by the Globe’s Spotlight Team, the article, and hundreds that followed, set off a crisis in the Catholic church that has gained international attention and ultimately led to the resignation of Cardinal Law. Spotlight editor Walter Robinson and his staff describe their coverage of the crisis and respond to questions from the audience.

The panel is introduced by Thomas Mulvoy, retired managing editor for news operations, Boston Globe; and adjunct professor of communication at Boston College.
