From the Academic Lens: A View on “The Future of Nursing” Report

Terry Fulmer, M.S. ’77, Ph.D. ’83, RN, FAAN, the Erline Perkins McGriff Professor and dean of the New York University College of Nursing, is the inaugural speaker in the Pinnacle Lecture Series, a new Connell School program that brings recognized nursing leaders to Boston College each semester to address issues at the forefront of health care today.
Dr. Fulmer addresses the fundamental changes necessary in education and practice to meet the needs of an aging society, given the impending changes in health care delivery. She framed her remarks around “The Future of Nursing” report, commissioned by the Institute of Medicine and published in 2010.
