A “Fallen-Away” Catholic's Monastic Vocation in Autismland
James T. Fisher, professor of theology at Fordham University, presents the 2012 Candlemas Lecture as part of the Lowell Humanities Series. An autism advocate and parent of an autistic son, Fisher organized Fordham’s Autism and Advocacy conference in 2006. His most recent book, On the Irish Waterfront: The Crusader, the Movie, and the Soul of the Port of New York, offers a fresh reading of the famous Elia Kazan film.
