Paul Elie, senior editor at Farrar, Straus and Giroux, talks about his book, The Life You Save May Be Your Own, An American Pilgrimage (Farrar, Straus and Giroux: 2003), in which he considers the work of four 20th-century American Catholic writers: Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, Flannery O’Connor, and Walker Percy.

Elie is introduced by Ben Birnbaum, editor of Boston College Magazine and special assistant to the president at Boston College.
