A panel of Catholic educators presents a profile of Catholic schools today and discusses crucial issues of leadership and government relations. The speakers are William Davis, OSFS, deputy secretary for schools for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and former superintendent of schools in the diocese of Arlington, Virginia; Dale McDonald, PBVM, Ph.D. '95, director of public policy and educational research at the National Catholic Educational Association in Washington, D.C.; and Glenn Anne McPhee, OP, secretary of education for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and former superintendent of schools in the archdiocese of San Francisco. Their remarks are followed by responses from James Miller '90, the chair of the committee on new initiatives for the Catholic Schools Foundation of Boston, and Janice Jackson, assistant professor at the Lynch School of Education and former deputy superintendent of the Boston Public Schools.

The discussion is moderated by Joseph O'Keefe, SJ, interim dean of the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, following an introduction by Daniel E. Kearns Professor of Education and Innovative Leadership Mary Walsh, of the Lynch School of Education.
