Pinnacle Lecture: Enhancing Access to Quality Health Care
Linda Burnes Bolton, the vice president and chief nursing officer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, explores how the nursing profession can be leveraged to create a health care system that is truly patient-centered. Burnes Bolton was vice chair of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Initiative on the Future of Nursing at the Institute of Medicine, which convened and commissioned The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health, a landmark report on the nursing workforce published last year. A past president of the American Academy of Nursing and the National Black Nurses Association, she has been an outspoken advocate for improving health care quality and access using community collaboration models.
