Realism, Ethics and U.S. Foreign Policy
Andrew Bacevich, professor of international relations and history at Boston University; Fr. Bryan Hehir, the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Public Practice of Religion and Public Life at Harvard University; and Jean Bethke Elshtain, the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics at the University of Chicago Divinity School, discuss the role of realism and ethics in U.S. foreign policy, with a focus on the new directions expected from President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton. Eric Owens, assistant director of the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life, introduces the speakers.
